Day One:

Depart Chiang Mai by
vehicle at 0700hrs and travel via the Samoeng Loop road to a remote
elephant camp in the mountains outside Chiang Mai and commence an
elephant safari through the surrounding jungle that includes visits
to one or two waterfalls. Visit
the Queen Sirikit Botanical gardens to explore the wide range of
flora that represents much of that indigenous to Thailand. Take
lunch in a local roadside restaurant in the village of Chiang Dao.
Continue north along rural back roads to visit a rare Paulong hill
tribe village, and one of the few accessible Lahu Shaleh hill tribe
villages in the north. Overnight at Maekok River Village Resort,
an adventure tour base on the banks of the Kok river on the outskirts
of the Thai -Burma border village of Ban Thaton.
Day Two

After breakfast set
off on a 4 hour walk through the hills surrounding the river valley.
You will visit several hill tribe villages and enjoy spectacular
views of the valley below. Commence a 4 hour bamboo raft trip from
a boarding point near Ban Thaton down the Kok river to Ban Pha Tai,
a Black Lahu village. A picnic lunch is served onboard. Canoes are
carried onboard for those who wish to use them. Stops are made at
the Shan village of Ban Mai Mokcham and the old tea loading station
at Ban Mae Saluk. Overnight again at the Maekok River Village Resort,
an adventure tour base on the banks of the Kok river on the outskirts
of the Thai -Burma border village of Ban Thaton.
Day Three

After breakfast, enjoy
a morning relaxing around the pool, exploring the nearby village
or, enjoy one of the following options;
Option 1. (MRVR000)
Using our own ‘area map’ take a mountain bike ride through the rich
agricultural farmlands of the Fang valley. Click

a morning course at the resort’s Krua Maekok Thai Cooking School
during which would learn to cook 3 Thai food dishes. Click

Option 3.(MRVR025)
Take a relaxing 2 hour traditional massage at the resort’s Nuat
Phaen Boran school of massage, followed by a herbal steam bath that
is located on the resort.Click

Then;
- After lunch, those on tour SA314A
depart the resort for Chiang Mai (airport or hotel) stopping at
the snake farm and the Orchid and butterfly farm en route to your
hotel or the airport at app. 1700hrs.
- Those on tour SA314B depart for
Chiang Rai (airport or hotel) arriving at app.1530hrs.
