An
Outdoor Adventure Club in Northern Thailand
The
Bamboo Man Adventure Club located in Ban Thaton, Chiang
Mai, Thailand. It forms a component part of the Maekok
River Village Resort an adventure tour base designed
with families in mind. The other related components are:
- The Maekok
River Village Resort property itself - set
on the banks of the Kok River at the northern end
of the Fang valley, providing a refuge from city life.
- The Student
Field Studies Centre Providing a wide
range of field studies and outward bound style activities
to the international market.
- A Corporate
Development Facility Providing facilities
and supervision of team building and leadership training
programmes.
- Track
of the Tiger Tours Specialists in soft
adventure tours for the family market since 1986.
- The Maekok
River Village Resort Organic Farm A facility
designed to reintroduce organic farming methods to
the north of Thailand.
- The Krua
Maekok Cooking School A Thai cooking
school of excellent repute.
THE
CLUB'S OBJECTIVES
- To introduce
both Thais and foreigners, young and old alike, to
the beauty of the remote areas of the north, and the
benefits of time spent actively involved in adventure
pursuits.
- To train
members in a variety of outdoor skills, sports and
activities, from beginner to advanced levels, so that
they may enhance their enjoyment of the outdoors in
a healthy responsible and safe manner.
- To introduce
people to the sport of 'Adventure Racing' by running
a regular programme of Adventure Skills Training Weekends,
and by holding several multi-level (basic, intermediate
and advanced) Bamboo Man Challenges each year, to
raise funds for charity.

To
provide, through our CHUAY DUAY programme, the opportunity
for 'hands on' involvement in our various Community
Development Projects.

OUR OBJECTIVES
To best achieve
the objectives, we have established 5 'specific interest
areas' within the club:

BAMBOO
MAN ADVENTURE CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Club
membership is available to all Thai nationals, and expatriates
living and working in Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and
Singapore.
Membership
charges are Baht 900.- per individual or family, and is
valid for 2 years. On joining the club, members will be
issued with a numbered credit-card sized members card.
Students 16 years and over (school or university), not
under a family membership, as well as teachers &
staff (school or university) are entitled to membership
at Baht 300.- per 2 year period.
THE
BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

Members
are entitled to a 15% discount on advertised rates
for accommodation and a 10% discount on meals and
drinks at Maekok River Village Resort.

Members
are also entitled to a 10% discount on advertised
rates for tours and courses provided by Track of the Tiger Tours.

They
benefit from the 'group rates' that we are able
to provide for pre-planned outings, Special Interest
Workshops etc. and are advised of such upcoming
events and activities by means of a monthly e-mailed
newsletter.

In addition,
they are able to use their Bamboo Man Adventure
Club membership card to obtain discounts when purchasing
outdoor related equipment from our sponsor companies,
and on a range services such as hotel accommodation
and vehicle hire.

The list of outlets and organisations offering discounts
or special offers to our membership will be updated
regularly and can be reviewed on our web site at

and listed under the Bamboo Man Adventure Club section
of the site.

Members
are able to use their membership status to book
accommodation and tours for visiting family and
friends at the member's discounted rate.
