Itinerary. The course starts with a 2 hour period in the lecture room during which you are taught the basics of map reading, how to check and use the GPS, and to transpose plot the GPS readings onto topographical maps. 1:50’000 local area maps are used, as well as a larger scale maps covering the north of Thailand. The larger scale map is given to you at the end of the course. The lecture room session is followed by a field trip where we drive you out to various points within a 25km radius of the resort and test you on what you have learned with us. Note* A certificate of competence is awarded at the end of the course. Note* GPS units are available for rental on a daily rate subject to availability.
