Guests are provided with mountain bikes for this self guided adventure. The resort provides you with a local area map for this scenic ride, an excursion through the rich agricultural farmlands of the Fang valley.

Board a long tailed boat at the resort jetty and travel 1.5 hours (30 km) down river to a Lahu Hill tribe village called Ban Ton Pung. (Bee Tree Village). Cycle back to Ban Thaton through Lahu, Yao, Karen, Akha and rural Thai villages.

Note* Most of the route is on level ground and along asphalted rural roads.

Board a long tailed boat at the resort jetty and travel down river for 30 minutes to a point just down river from Wat Pratart Sop Fang. This 1060 year old temple is perched on a solitary high point in the middle of the Fang river valley.

Follow a short path to the dirt road that leads you up the steep hill, to the temple from where you can enjoy the panoramic views up and down river. Follow rural back roads through typical Thai villages, namely Ban Mae Nuang Noi, Ban Pok Pa Yang and Ban Gai.

Turn off the road onto trails that lead through local farming areas, up and down some steep slopes and back and forth across the Fang river on narrow ‘temporary’ bamboo bridges. Follow the track through farmland as it flattens out and takes you along the river bank back to the resort.

Travel by vehicle for 50km to the forest temple of Wat Tum Tubtao. Cycle along a rural back road that follows the base of the mountains as it threads its way through rich farm land, (lychee, garlic, tangerine and ground nut) amongst others, are tended by colourfully dressed and friendly locals with a ready smile for the infrequent passer by.

Take lunch along the way, either a picnic box or at a local roadside restaurant (at guest expense).Turn off into the foothills and follow a dirt track to a rare Paulong Hill tribe village perched on top a hill with excellent views of the surrounding valley.

Cycle down a dirt road on the reverse slope of the village to reboard the vehicle a small village market for the 30 minute journey back to the resort.

Full Day – From the Fang bypass through Mae Sao valley

Depart the resort by vehicle (after lunch or breakfast) and travel by vehicle to a drop off point on the Fang bypass road. Ride along back roads through orange plantations, rice paddies, tree plantations and a brick field.

Go off road to take a trail along an irrigation canal and then along some rough tracks over a mountain saddle and into the Mae Sao valley. You visit the hilltop temple of Wat Phratart Doy Nam Kang before cycling on to the Mae Sao market for a vehicle pick up and return to the resort.
