Transfers to Ban Thaton From Chiang Rai
Vehicle Transfers - Direct

Direct transfers by minibus are available to and from Chiang Rai (1.5 hrs) anytime at app. $40 per minibus (1-8 seats)

Boat transfers
SCHEDULED BOAT - CHIANG RAI - BAN THATON - 4.5 hours, departs daily Mae Fah Luang Jetty at 1030 hrs, costs app.$5 per seat.

CHARTER BOAT direct either way - app.$50 per boat (8 people) service available from 0800 - 1500 hrs daily. Or with stops as dictated, picnic lunches, and Elephant Safari for slightly more. (Price dependent on exact itinerary).

Meal Code - None

Essentially a sightseeing transfer that takes a route through Chiang Saen, The Golden Triangle, Mae Sai, and Mae Salong then on to Ban Thaton. The itinerary is flexible allowing stops where requested and is dictated mainly by your arrival/start time.

Full Day Tour - Chiang Saen, Golden Triangle, Opium Museum, Mae Sai, (Cross border visit to Burma) Mae Salong.

Meal Code - (Lunch)

Depart your hotel in Chiang Rai by vehicle accompanied by an English speaking tour guide and drive via Chiang Saen with stops at the Golden Triangle and the Opium museum to the Thai-Burma border village of Mae Sai. Lunch then (optional trip) into Tachilek (Burma) at guest expense of app.$5 per person for a visit to the local market. Travel mountain roads via the ex-Kuomingtong stronghold of Ban Mae Salong with its exotic market, down to the Fang valley and Ban Thaton. Note* Passport is required but not stamped for entry into Burma.

Meal Code - (Lunch)

Designed primarily for those who have already been to Chiang Rai, or for those who wish to avoid most of the well known tourist attractions. Depart Chiang Rai by vehicle with an English speaking guide and travel to the Mae Sai area turning off to Doi Pa Mi. Stop in a quaint Kuomingtong village with cobbled streets as you follow the stunningly scenic mountain route to Doi Toong and the Queen Mother�s Royal Garden Project. Stroll the grounds before lunch then travel over the mountain to the ex Kuomingtong stronghold of Ban Mae Salong for a brief stop at the exotic market before descending to the valley floor and Ban Thaton.
