Day Soft Adventure - Scenic Drive, Bamboo Rafting, (Canoeing option)
Hilltribes & Elephant Safari. Meal Code - (Lunch) Depart your hotel by vehicle accompanied by an English-speaking tour guide for a very scenic drive through Chiang Saen & The Golden Triangle, then across the Mae Salong range to the Kok River. Board a custom built, well equipped, (safety vests, ice box, picnic lunches) and comfortable bamboo raft for a lazy trip down the spectacular Kok River (with an optional canoeing phase.) Elephants meet you at a pre-designated spot on the riverbank and take you along jungle trails to a Karen village. Here, board to your vehicle for a return to your hotel. Day Soft Adventure - Very Scenic Mountain Drive, Boat Ride down
the Kok River and Optional Elephant Safari. Meal Code - (Lunch.) Depart your hotel by vehicle accompanied by an English-speaking tour guide for a very scenic drive through Chiang Saen & The Golden Triangle, then ascend Doi Pa Mi to a quaint Kuomingtong village. Continue travelling the crest of the range on your way to Doi Toong where you have a brief coffee stop at the Queen Mother’s Royal garden project. On over hills to the Fang valley to board a long tail boat in Ban Pha Tai on the Kok River. Take a 2-hour trip down river to the Karen village of Ban Ruam Mit where you may enjoy an (optional) 1-hour elephant ride through surrounding jungle. Reboard your transport for the trip back to your hotel. |

Days & 1 Night Soft Adventure - Mountain Roads, Hill tribe villages,
and overnight in a rustic Lodge on the Kok River. Full Day of Bamboo
Rafting and Elephant Safari. Tour ref. CR. 201 Meal Code - (Lunch, Dinner; Breakfast, Lunch) Day One Depart your hotel by vehicle accompanied by an English-speaking tour guide for a very scenic drive through Chiang Saen & The Golden Triangle, then ascend Doi Pa Mi to a quaint Kuomingtong village. Continue up travelling the crest of the range on your way to Doi Toong where you explore the beautiful gardens of the Queen Mother’s Royal Garden Project. Picnic lunch at a roadside viewpoint before travelling across to Doi Mae Salong and the exotic market. Visit several interesting Hill tribe villages on the descent to the Kok River and your overnight stop in Ban Thaton. Tiger Tip On arrival in Ban Thaton Overnight at Maekok River Village Resort where Cocktails, Dinner, Campfire are available; or at alternative accommodation selected from our Thailand Hotel & Guest House Directory (Ban Thaton section) Day Two Start the next day with an (optional) visit to the temple overlooking the river, then set off for our ‘bamboo raft’ boarding point. Rafts are customized, safe and well equipped. Begin a lazy journey down this very scenic river. Canoes are provided for the energetic who may wish to make excursions from the raft). Lunch at our own river camp then continue down river to a pre-designated spot on the river bank Commence a 2-hour elephant safari ending in the Karen village of Ban Ruam Mit. 1 Night Soft Adventure - River Barge Trip on the Kok River, Mini
trek, Overnight in River Camp, Elephant Safari. Tour Ref. CR. 202 Meal Code - (Tea, Lunch. Dinner, Breakfast, Lunch,) Day One Drive the scenic mountain route from Mae Chan to the Fang valley and arrive at the rustic Maekok River Lodge for morning tea or coffee. Set off again by vehicle to visit Shan & Lisu villages. Board one of our customized river barges in the Black Lahu village of Ban Pha Tai and raft down river through stunning scenery. Picnic lunch, canoeing, (optional) mini trek (optional) of 1.5 hrs to a Mussur Hill tribe village then onto our river base camp for an overnight stop. Bamboo bungalows, hot water, mosquito nets, BBQ, full bar and campfire. Day Two After breakfast, continue down river by barge through gorges and past isolated Hill tribe villages. More canoeing if requested. Take an Elephant safari from a point on the river bank that takes you through surrounding jungle and ends in a Karen village. Reboard the river barge for the final leg of the journey down to Chiang Rai boat jetty (arriving app. 1500 hrs.) from where you transfer back to your hotel. Tour Ref. CR. 202
