the silversmiths ply their trade. Check into the Royal Princess
Hotel in the centre of the town with the famous Chiang Mai
night bazaar on its doorstep. Either eat at one of the many
western food restaurants in the city centre, or ask you guide

evening exploring the night bazaar.
Day Two.
Meal code
– (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast
in the hotel. Depart by minibus for Sankampaeng, and the more
tourist orientated handicraft centres; Umbrella making, ceramics,
silk, cotton and saa paper products. Stop at those you wish
to visit, and then continue on to the butterfly and orchid
farm in the Mae Rim area. Head north once more to visit the
rather special and little visited temple – Wat Thoeng Luang.
There is a sacred ambience about the place not found in many
temples along the tourist trail. Take lunch at Chiang Dao
Hill resort, in a restaurant set under giant trees in an idyllic
stream side setting. Continue north stopping briefly at the
scenic forest temple at Tum Tubtao, returning to Maekok river
resort in the mid to late afternoon.
