linksTours at Maekok River Village Resort
The Maekok River Village Resort is located almost halfway along the popular ‘Old Trade Route’ at 175 kms from Chiang Mai, and 90 kms from Chiang Rai, and the Golden Triangle.
It sits at the far end of the vast agricultural food basket that is the Fang valley, on the banks of the Maekok River (named after a particular flower), at the base of the foothills that lie at the end of the Himalayan chain, and on the outskirts of the village of Ban Thaton (the last river boat boarding point.
The location allows easy access to both the rural areas, the border mountains, and the and villages that dot the Maekok river, as well as to local markets that cater to villagers from both sides of the border.
