Description:Chiang Mai is the capital of northern Thailand, a 700 year old city built around a central โ€˜old townโ€™ which is surrounded by a moat and brick built defensive wall with gated entrance at all 4 compass points. Known as the rose of the north, it sits astride the banks of the Ping River on a large floodplain (one million rice fields) and is surrounded by mountains.

It is the arts and crafts centre of the Kingdom of Thailand, and is home to a graceful friendly people who live a less rushed lifestyle than their cousins in the capital Bangkok.

The highlights tour takes in some of the temples, the museum, the old town and the local markets in which the locals buy their food and clothing.Dinner (included in the tour) is at Just Khao Soy, where you savour the signature dish of northern Thai cuisine.

An 18 hole par 72 Championship golf course
situated right behind Mae Jo University, the oldest agricultural college in Chiang Mai, the course is less than 30 kilometers or only 20 minutes drive mostly along the divided highways from the airport.
The course features rolling zoysia grass fairways and large challenging Korea Velvet greens with beautiful views of Doi Suthep and other surrounding mountain ranges.
With thousands of matured Longan, Lychee, Mango, Pomello, and Tangerine trees alongside its fairways, the golf course looks and plays more like a well-matured course rather than a newly constructed one.

The market venue alternates between 2-3 major roads which are closed off to all but pedestrain trafic from early afternoon to late evening.

Golfers option 2: 18 holes at the Royal Chiang Mai Golf Club
Escorted by your English speaking guide you head off for the golf course.

Brief Description of course:
Only a 30 minute drive from Chiang Mai city, this 18 hole, par 72, Peter Thomson designed links style course opened in February 1996.

The par 4, 4th ( Hcp 1) is an absolute brute of a hole, playing at 440 yards from the back tees and uphill all the way.

Not a hole for the faint hearted. This hole is an exception as the key to scoring well, points more towards accuracy than length.

More so, considering there is 94 well-placed bunkers to catch any stray shots.

You will find many streams and lakes throughout the 18 holes but not all are in play. The course offers all levels of golfers an enjoyable round with a chance to score well.

Many of the holes are set with beautiful mountain backdrops, so if your game goes to the pack at least the course and its backdrops will be pleasing to the eye.

All Tees, Fairways and Roughs are grassed with 419 Bermuda grass and Greens with imported Tiff Dwarf Bermuda grass.
A practice putting and chipping green, as well as a driving range are available for you to fine tune your skills before attacking the course.
