Overview

Maekok River Village Resort & Student Centre - www.maekok-river-village-resort.com

There is close collaboration between both the Sanpatong Experiential Education Centre (SEEC), the Maekok River Village Resort & Student Centre (MRVR) and the Volunteers Without Borders Foundation (VWB) - based not only on cross ownership, but on their ability to provide the same basic range of products and services to a high standard.

The differences lie in:

1. Their Capacity

  • The MRVR can accommodate up to 200 students and has the resources to handle several groups at one time.
  • The SEEC can accommodate app. 60 students, and handles one group at a time.

2. Their Location

  • The MRVR is located in the north of the Chiang Mai province, 175 kms (4 hrs from Chiang Mai, and 92 kms (1.5 hrs from Chiang Rai) and enjoys all the facilities of a 4 star resort.
  • The SEEC is located 30kms southwest of Chiang Mai City and is located on a rustic farm stay and organic farming project.

3. The Key Differences

  • The MRVR is better suited to accommodating larger groups on programmes longer than 3-4 days in duration. VWB has a stronger focus on larger scale community service projects in support of local schools, and an excellent record of accomplishments.
  • The SEEC is better suited to smaller groups, that have less time available to them, and/or want to include more of the attractions and activities Chiang Mai City & surrounding areas. VWB focuses on shorter projects that can be undertaken by smaller groups.

3. Dual Location Programmes - The journey between both properties takes about 3 hours. However, the numerous attractions, activities, and outdoor and environmental education opportunities available along the several routes between each centre allow us to ensure that the time spent traveling between the two centres blends seamlessly, and enhances any programme.

4. Corporate Team Building Programmes - Track of the Tiger has an excellent reputation for its unique and innovative range of corporate team building, leadership and special events programmes. Programme options can include.

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) options based out of Maekok River Village Resort.
  • Team Building Programmes that incorporate accommodation and team building activities at Maekok River Village Resort, and en route from Chiang Rai Airport to an event in Chiang Mai, or on departing Chiang Mai via a programme that has the group fly out from Chiang Rai.
